Still Ain't had Enough?

A lot of people have spent a major part of this year just looking for "fun" and excitement. And now that the year is about over, they are more ready than ever to jump at the chance to go to the big Christmas party, or New Year's Eve celebration. And what will they do there? Get drunk?Stay high the whole night? Kiss every pretty girl or boy in sight? Bust a few shots in the air to declare they are strong for another year? What? What is the point of all this. When is it enough?
I think it is sad that young people especially, throw their life away for a few moments of pleasure. How many youth are killed each year drunk driving? How many overdose? How many get killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Now, what I would really like to know is; do you think that the party scenes that will be full to the brim during these holidays are the right place to be or the wrong place to be? What will be the outcome or all the "excitement". NOTHING! Absolutely nothing! Or worst of all, the outcome could be fatal. Literally.
When is enough, enough? I think the young people of today need to wake up. It is actually sickening to see how silly most are. They think everything that MTV or Hot blah bla blah says is cool. They want to be the person with the title of the craziest, or the one who doesn't care. But how stupid is that? I don't want to be the one who doesn't care. I DO care about my life. And in fact, if you don't care about your life, no one else will care about it either. You will end up doing something dumb enough to destroy your life.
So what is the point.
You who are wise will show some self control during these last few weeks of the year. You will not be thinking about the party seen. But instead you will be setting goals for yourself. You will be planning what you can do to make the next year a great one. Don't follow the celebraties, or the media, or your school or work mates. Use your head! Think! And make good decisions. So what if they laugh at you for not doing what they do.
A wise person once told me, "he who laughs last, laughs the loudest". And in the near future those who want the glamor and excitement of the world outside will not be laughing at all, but you with your happy successful life, will be laughing very loud.

  1. I agree 100% Pastor! Sadly some people only realize 'they've had enough' when they're already too old. They look back at their younger years and realize what a waste of time some of the things they did were. I'm also sure they were warned of these things before hand.

We have been given the chance to learn from others experiences. Let's not throw that opportunity down the drain... Let's learn from other's mistakes as much as we can..

Btw, I decide to join the successful crowd that'll be laughing last. :]

  2. Really strong Pastor!! i agree when its ever enough so many youth out there don't see it and then when they grow older they expect to mature and get their life together when they should have started from being an adoloscene because that time in our lives is when we should focus in our future plan ahead and not wait for it to come because who knows if they will ever get there if the violence, drinking, and parties, killing will get to them first. I choose to laught last!! and be wise and follow my path not no celebreties or media. Thank you!!

  3. I strongly agree pastor!! Many of these youth have the thoughts that church and GOD is for those who are going to die soon (elders), but what they don't realize is that they need it more then does elder people. Most elder people have knowledge and know that God exist and that they should always ask God for forgiveness of there sins etc.. back in the days they were taught to love God and do his will. So if these elder people die and have a chance before to ask God for forgiveness and to be saved, im sure they will take advantage of it. But a youth is not the same at all. Now they grow up thinking that God is just like Santa Clause (a made up magical character). This post is very interesting, and yes pastor those who think they are WASSUP now will be sorry tomorrow, and those who are humbled and follow God's Path will be WASSUP tomorrow. :)

  5. I agree with you Pr.Damien! This time of year everything looks more "fun" and "exciting". But I think how many times before I attended to christmas parties, new year parties... Yes, had a good time but when the party was over my life was the same and I felt more sad because one more day had passed by and I hadn't done anything productive for my life.

Now, when the new year comes I have fun in a Godly way and know that with God I haven't wasted my day!

  6. Very true! That's what this 'holiday spirit' brings to many people especially youth! The mentatlity of most youth is to live for the here and now, and like you said only those that use their intelligence will think of the future, and decide now not to follow what this world leads to, but what we know is right and will bring victory! Thanks for sharing this message!

  7. It's very sad to see that this young people do not want anything to do with God. They think that is cool to be drunk, sleep aroud and do crazy things.
I am praying for them to open the eyes and realize that a life with God is better that everything that this world have to offer.

    May God bless you!

  9. I agree with this completely. Young people nowadays go by their emotions alot. They need to have "fun" and If that means getting hurt, it doesnt matter to them. Like Bianca said on the comment above, there is no gain.

  10. l agree completely, lots of these silly things are pointless, there are a lot of pointless things that we or others can do in life. If it's pointless then why do it.

  11. I agree:"he, who laughs last, laughs the loudest"... I was telling this to this youth last week... He came up to me and asked me, Why when I did wrong no one cared and now that I want to follow God I'm I joke..
Every change comes with sacrifice, and when you look back and see they haven’t gone forward, you will say who is laughing now…

  12. This post is really helpful. As a youth I have to be wise and think twice before doing anything. I really have to question whether what I am about to do will benefit me. Many dont do this and end uo suffering, or even dead!

  13. This is sadly true. Many youths are suffering because they focus on what feels good rather than what is good and lasts. We have to be wise and make the right decisions, we will be better off in the long run.

  14. When we follow the hype of this world we end up chasing after things that only fulfill us for the moment. Many are looking for the next high to fill the emptiness that is inside them, parties drinking etc have become a way of escape as they were once for me. They were only temporary fixes for what was happening within me. Its so true if you don't care for your own life no one will. If you spend your life following others you will end up living an unfulfilled life. I used to envy the life portrayed on MTV until I realized that all that they have doesn't make them happy.
